Ice cream vs. Gelato

Ice cream and Gelato are some of the most delicious desserts out there! Between the two desserts, there are some differences and similarities that make them so good! The first difference is that in Gelato there is less fat   in the base and less air churned into it during the freezing process.  American Ice creams area heavy on the cream and fat content by 10%. Gelato uses more milk than cream and uses less to none egg yolks which is another cause of less fat. Another difference is that American Ice cream is churned at a fast speed with plenty of air. This gives the Ice cream a light and thin flavorless texture. On the other hand, Gelato is churned at a slow moving pace which introduces less air into the base. That's why it tastes more dense than Ice cream. Air is basically the biggest difference between the two scrumptious desserts!
